Hattie Llewelyn-Davies – Chair

Hattie became Chair of the Viridian Board in December 2007. She has worked in housing for over 35 years and has experience in developing strategies, governance and in running organisations, having been the Chief Executive of a housing association and done a lot of work as an interim Chief Executive.

She has considerable experience chairing and governing not-for profit, housing and social organisations as well as having been the vice chair of a large building society and chair of a firm of auditors.

Hattie is currently Chair of Hertfordshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.

As well as her work as a Board member Hattie works as a self employed consultant, coach and trainer specialising in governance and tenant involvement.

John Cox

John joined the Board of Viridian Housing in September 2011 as a Tenant Board member and is also Vice Chair of the National Residents Forum.

John is a retired mechanical engineer of some 45 years experience having worked in many engineering fields from equipment for the soap and perfume industry, design and manufacture of cash dispensers to managing the design section associated with producing the current ticket machines and automatic barriers used on the London Underground.

John has been a resident of Viridian for many years and is also involved in other resident participation activities. Apart from being involved with Viridian, John also supports the Vassall Ward Safer Neighbourhood Policing team. back to top

Chris Cheshire

Chris has worked in social housing for over 20 years. He was the CEO of a social housing maintenance contractor. Chris trained initially as a surveyor and then moved into asset and project management as his career progressed. His skills encompass development, regeneration, new initiatives, maintenance management and business development. Chris was Director of Property and Asset Management with a large London RSL before establishing his first consultancy and maintenance companies in 1996.

He has been active as a volunteer in the social housing sector for 12 years as a board member with two previous RSLs. Chris joined the board of Viridian Facilities Management in 2004 before stepping up to the Board of Viridian Housing in 2005. back to top

John Lavers

John became a member of the Audit Committee in 2006 and was appointed to the Board in 2007. In July 2008 he was appointed Chair of the reconstituted Risk and Audit Committee.

John is now retired after a career in finance in the private sector, specialising especially in the financing of major capital projects. He was Group Treasurer and Director of Corporate Finance for George Wimpey plc and later Managing Director of Businesses, first at Wimpey and then at Tarmac which invested in projects under the Government’s Private Finance Initiative. For ten years from 1998, John ran a project advisory business focusing on PFI and PPP projects.

John was on the Board of Housing21 for ten years, chairing their Finance and Development Committee, and for four years was a member of the Investment Committee of Futurebuilders-England, the government fund that provides loan finance to the third sector. back to top

Rod Morton

After graduating in Mechanical Engineering from Edinburgh University, Rod worked in the automobile manufacturing industry in the North West of England. After 8 years he trained as a Chartered Accountant with Price Waterhouse in Newcastle upon Tyne. When qualified he moved to London and remained with the same firm for another 23 years. During that time Rod had a number of roles in audit and consultancy including Lead Partner in the firm's Public Sector Accounting Consultancy, before retiring in 2000.

Since then Rod has specialised as a consultant and non-executive director. From 2005 to 2010 he was Executive Chair of a Public Private Partnership which developed Primary Care facilities in South East London. He has also served as a non-executive board member with London & Quadrant HT as Honorary Treasurer (2001 to 2006) and as a Housing Corporation appointee with Shaftesbury HT (2003 to 2006).

Rod joined the Viridian Board in June 2008 and is currently Chair of the Remuneration and Nomination committee and is a member of the Treasury and Risk & Audit committees. back to top

Simon Oelman

Simon is another Tenant member of our Board and lives in a Viridian property in Lewisham. He has 15 years’ experience of working in housing management and maintenance for both housing associations and local councils. Simon is currently Head of Housing Management and Maintenance for Kingston Council. back to top

Kevin Willetts

Kevin was appointed to the Viridian Board in November 2009.

Most recently, Kevin was the Business Development Director of Lovell from June 2010 until May 2012. Prior to that, he spent 6 years at Rok, as Group Housing Director and then Group Sales & Marketing Director. Kevin also worked at Mansell as Director of Social Housing and at Coventry Churches (now part of Midland Heart) for 10 years and at Mercian for 8 years as Director of Development services. back to top

Gina Amoh

Our newest Board member, Gina, was appointed to the Board on 24 July 2010.

Gina has over 20 years experience in the housing sector, working in senior positions with responsibility for major business functions including development, housing management, new business and HR. She has also held several board appointments. Gina is currently is the Chief Executive of London based housing association and is a fellow of Chartered Institute of Housing and has an MBA. back to top

Matthew Fox- Chief Executive

Matthew joined Viridian as Chief Executive in October 2004. He was previously Chief Executive at Riverhaven, created from a merger of Harding Housing Association, Battersea Churches and Chelsea Housing Trust.

Matthew has extensive commercial experience, having spent five years in investment banking with Kleinwort, Benson and then having worked for seven years in commercial real estate development in the United States. back to top

Theo Scott (trainee board member)

Theo joined Viridian as a member of the Transformation Committee in January 2010. He is now a Board trainee and committee member for the Tenants Services and Homes Committees. He has worked in housing for over 20 years, where he has held senior positions working for housing associations and a local authority within housing management.

He has experience in developing strategies for resident participation, community regeneration, diversity and housing management. He has also worked as a consultant helping housing associations and local authorities develop resident consultation strategies for stock transfers and providing independent advice to resident groups developing tenant management organisations.

He currently works for Merton Priory Homes, which is part of the Circle Anglia Group where he is responsible for Community Engagement and External Communications.

Theo has held previous non-executive roles as a board member for Places for People ‘Diversity Board’ and Kush Housing Association. He is also a corporate member of the Chartered Institute of Housing. back to top

Theo Scott, Board member - trainee

Samantha Herelle (trainee board member)

Samantha has 12 years experience working for housing organisations including Circle 33 Housing Trust and Peabody Housing Trust.

Samantha joined the Board as a trainee in October 2010. Samantha currently works for the Circle Anglia Group as an Area Housing Manager and is based in London.

Shaun Lansfield (Board Observer)

Shaun is a tenant of Viridian Houses. He served as a Regional Committee member on the London and South East Regional Committee for a number of years before being appointed to the Board.

Shaun has been an involved tenant of Viridian for many years. He has served as Chairman of one of the first active residents associations and chaired tenant conferences. Shaun is the chair of the National Residents Forum (NRF) as well as an observer at Viridian Board meetings.

He works for Coca Cola Enterprises as a Health and Safety Manager. back to top
