Ezekiel's story

I came across Viridian Housings Robbins Hall accommodation when I was looking for a place to stay that wasn’t far from university or my long jump training centre. I was unable to find anywhere suitable within my budget and was beginning to think I would have to travel from my parent’s house which took at least two hours each way. Living this way would have had a serious impact on my performance both at school at in athletics.

By chance I looked on my universities website to see if there was anything available and happened to notice Robbins Hall. So I Google mapped the site and found out it was only a five minute drive from my training centre and a 25 minute drive to university! Stumbling across such an ideal situation felt like a blessing from god and a sign that I am supposed to be here working towards my degree and becoming a world class long jumper.

Since moving to Robbins Hall I have been selected to represent my county on five different international events and most recently won the UK Indoor Championships.

The staff there are amazing and have helped me out in more ways than one. If it wasn’t for them I would not have been able to dedicate myself for the first time completely to my sport.

Writing this story I am sitting in Formina, Italy training alongside the like of Great Britain’s world triple jump champion Phillips Idowu and many other world class athletes from across the globe.

Viridian Housing have been a big helping hand in allowing me to have the time a resources needed to become one of the top long jumpers in the world and I’m very grateful that they have kindly offered to help me to achieve my goals.
