Energy Performance Certificate

The Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) will be necessary in order to sell your property. Sellers are required to commission an EPC, however you don't need to have received an EPC before marketing your property. This means that a seller or a person acting on their behalf i.e. an estate agent, must have instructed an accredited Energy Assessor to carry out an energy performance assessment..

An accredited Energy Assessor can be someone who is accredited (regulated) to provide energy assessments on buildings. HIP providers may be able to provide this service as long as they are accredited under scheme as an energy assessor. You can also go on the following website to find an assessor:
