Abbey Road is a nursing home for older people who have either dementia or a mental health need. The home has 18 individual bedrooms with full disabled access.
Facilities
- Welcoming and supportive -
Abbey Road is a modern home arranged on two floors. We have a large secure garden which residents are encouraged to use.
Each resident has their own bedroom with en suite washing and toilet facilities. The rooms are fully furnished and residents are encouraged to make their room as personal and comfortable as possible with their own belongings.
The rooms are arranged into two groups, with a shared lounge/diner room and kitchen for each group. This encourages residents to get to know each other.
A GP practice is nearby and our staff work with psychiatrists and other professionals to provide a holistic approach to the care. An optician, dentist and chiropodist also visit the home.
Our services
- Care and commitment -
Abbey Road is designed to meet the needs of people who require a high level of nursing care. It provides continuing care for Redbridge Primary Care Trust.
Our care home employees along the qualified nurse, provides 24 hour care. Help ranges from feeding, washing and dressing to arranging activities and booking appointments.
Key workers usually build up a close relationship with their residents. Making sure residents get the care and attention they need.
We know that food is important to our residents and take great care to find out what each resident likes. Our on site catering team provides two main meals a day, with a range of nutritious dishes which are monitored and changed according to tastes.
Breakfast and snacks are prepared by care staff at other times. Special diets which cater for religious beliefs or health requirements are available.
All our residents wear their own personal clothing and use our laundry service. A hairdressing service is also provided in the home.
Our employees bring energy and enthusiasm to the care of our residents, which helps to create a lively and warm atmosphere. Care workers develop their skills and knowledge through ongoing training provided by Viridian Housing and through achieving NVQ level 2/3 in care. Our senior employees are qualified nurses.
