Burrows House is a registered care home providing residential and social care for 54 people. The home has been registered to provide care for 28 older people, 22 people who suffer from dementia, two with learning disabilities and two with a mental health disorder.

Facilities
Welcoming and supportive Burrows House provides accommodation with each resident having their own room. Viridian Housing will normally furnish your room, but you can bring your own furniture. This depends on available space and all furniture must comply with fire safety regulations.

We will provide all your bed linen and your personal clothing is washed in the home. All mail is delivered to the office and then distributed to individual rooms. If you have any letters to post you can either do it yourself or give it to a member of our staff.

There are five units – three for those with dementia and two for older people.

Each living area has a lounge and a kitchenette where snacks and drinks can be prepared.

The home has a number of bathrooms furnished with appropriate equipment to assist residents to get in and out of the bath. Our employees are always there to help if needed.

There is a large enclosed garden for residents to enjoy and our staff will help you to get around the garden if you need assistance.

Burrows House aims to provide a high level of care in a homely and comfortable setting. Our dedicated support team all of whom have considerable experience in care provide 24 hour care.

Meals are cooked at the home, with many varied menu choices. We can cater for people who have special dietary needs, religious beliefs or health requirements. Drinks and light snacks are available throughout the day.

The home has close links with local GP’s, community nurses, dentists, opticians and a chiropodist who visits the home on a regular basis.

You have the choice of remaining with your GP, depending on where you have moved from. Your existing GP may not be able to continue to provide you with service and staff will be on hand to advise you on this issue.

Activities
- Things to do, places to go -
Organised trips and entertainment are arranged throughout the year and there are activity sessions throughout the week.

A range of daily activities are available if residents wish to take part. Some activities could be subject to a small fee which will go towards the cost of transport and entry tickets to shows and theatres.

We are committed to ensuring our residents receive the support from staff in terms of their creative, cultural, esteem, emotional, physical, intellectual, learning and development, sensory and social needs.

Local area
- Getting around -
Transport links and larger shopping facilities are available close by in Penge or South Norwood. The area has excellent bus routes serving Croydon and South London. The mainline stations at Norwood, Anerley, Birkberk and Penge East are each about ten minutes walking distance and provide services to Victoria and Bromley.

Burrows House is situated just outside Penge in a quiet residential area close to Croydon. Local shops are a five minute walk away.
