Lucton House

Lucton House is a residential care home for older people. The home consists of 49 self contained flats.

Facilities
- Welcoming and supportive -
Lucton House is a modern home arranged on two floors. We have a large secure garden which residents are encouraged to use.

Each resident has their own one-bedroom flat. The rooms are fully furnished and residents are encouraged to make their room as personal and comfortable as possible with their own belongings. All flats have central heating and television and telephone points.

There is a call point in each room for emergency purposes. The home has two dining rooms. This encourages residents to get to know each other.

There are several GP practices nearby and the staff work with district nurses and other professionals to provide a holistic approach to the care. An optician and chiropodist also visit the home.

Lucton House is designed to meet the needs of people who require assistance with their daily needs.

The staff team provides 24 hour care and has a registered manager, assistant manager, senior carer, care assistants, housekeepers, laundry assistant, handyperson and administrators.

Services we provide range from washing and dressing to arranging activities and booking appointments. Each resident usually builds up a close relationship with their key worker, who makes sure the resident gets the care and attention they need.

We know that food is important to our residents and take great care to find out what each person likes. Our on site catering team provides two main meals a day, with a range of delicious dishes which are monitored and changed according to tastes.

Breakfast and snacks are cooked by the catering team at other times. Special diets which cater for religious beliefs or health requirements are available.

All our residents wear their own personal clothing and use our laundry service. A hairdressing service is also provided in the home.

Our employees bring energy and enthusiasm to the care of our residents, which helps to create a lively and warm atmosphere. Care workers develop their skills and knowledge through ongoing training provided by Viridian Housing and through achieving NVQ level 2/3 in care.

- Things to do, places to go -
Activities are individually developed with each resident and their families taking into account residents choice and wishes, past hobbies and interests.

We aim to cover the 10 core activity needs in creative, cultural, esteem, emotional, intellectual, learning and development, physical, sensory, social and spiritual needs.

- Getting around -
There are transport facilities in the area, including buses to Northfield, Cotteridge, Kings Heath.

Location
- Where we are -
Lucton House is located in a quiet residential area of Bournville and is close to a nearby duck pond and yachting pool. Visitors will find it easily accessible by road from South Birmingham and surrounding areas.
