Mary Court is a very special apartment complex located beside Battersea Park in Wandsworth.
At Mary Court the residents lease their apartments. A unique aspect of this complex is that we have a dedicated team of care and support staff available 24 hours a day to assist the residents if and when they need it.
Facilities
- Welcoming and supportive -
Mary Court is termed an ‘extra care’ service. This means that to receive local authority funded care or support in any of the apartments the residents have to be over the age of 65 and have a specific needs assessment.
If residents don’t want the assessment they can opt to pay for any services privately at an agreed rate. Being a resident of Mary Court also affords the residents additional security to what is available in other apartment complexes.
Residents and families can be reassured knowing that staff are around 24 hours a day to help if needed. It is an extremely safe place to live.
There are 35 individual self contained flats over three floors. All floors are serviced by a lift. Each flat has a lounge, bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and entrance hall.
The flats are carpeted but unfurnished, a fridge and cooker are provided. There is also a large and attractively landscaped roof top garden which is tranquil, sheltered and private.
What is Care and Support?
‘Care’ may refer to the provision of personal assistance to wash and dress but can also include other daily activities like staff providing assistance with meals.
‘Support’ might mean help with shopping, housekeeping and laundry tasks.
At Mary Court we also provide a wide range of additional services at reasonable costs which can include a breakfast service, unlimited beverages during the day and a sandwich service in the evening, additional laundry services and a hairdresser. Payment for these services is separate to the provision of care and support.
Other supportive services that many resident use at Mary Court include the library, district nurses, chiropodist, dentist and opticians.
Our services
- Costs -
Rent for the apartment is charged and includes a general service fee for lighting, heating and water. Residents are liable for a community charge.
There is an emergency alarm system in each room operating 24 hours a day. The emergency alarms are answered by a senior member of staff at the apartments.
The domiciliary care is provided by experienced care staff based at Mary Court 24 hours a day.
The local authority will complete a comprehensive assessment looking at the amount of care and type of care required. Each resident then has an individual care package tailored to meet their needs and this is usually funded by the local authority.
Location
