Facilities
- Welcoming and supportive -
Peregrine House is a modern home arranged on two floors. The atmosphere is warm and friendly.
Each resident has their own bed-sitting room with en suite washing and toilet facilities. The rooms are fully furnished and residents are encouraged to make their room as personal and comfortable as possible with their own belongings.
The rooms are arranged into four groups of eight residents, and one group of three with a shared dining room and kitchen for each group. This encourages friendships and mutual support among residents. Fully adapted bathrooms and shower rooms are also provided.
Social events and parties take place in our large dining room and television lounge. We also have a large projector screen for you to watch your favourite movies or the big game. There is a shop and a hairdressing service.
A GP practice is nearby and the staff work with district nurses and other professionals to provide a holistic approach to the care. An optician, dentist and chiropodist also visit the home.
Our services
- Care and commitment -
Peregrine House is designed to meet the needs of people who are unable to live in their own home or sheltered housing.
A staff support team, provides 24 hour support. This ranges from help with washing and dressing to arranging activities, writing letters, booking appointments or just a friendly chat over a cup of tea. Each resident has a key worker to offer individual support and plan care.
We know that food is important to our residents and take great care to find out what each person likes. Our on site catering team provides two main meals a day, with a range of delicious dishes which are monitored and changed according to tastes. Breakfast and snacks are prepared by care staff at other times.
Special diets which cater for religious beliefs/ health or cultural requirements are available.
Employees at Peregrine House enjoy their work and take pleasure in making the lives of residents as happy as possible.
Care workers develop their skills and knowledge through ongoing training provided by Viridian Housing and through achieving NVQ level 2/3 in care. It is compulsory that everyone undertakes in-house training provided by Viridian.
