Young people and domestic violence

We have several schemes for both young people, usually aged 16 to 25 years, and those fleeing domestic violence.

Shanti domestic violence schemes

Through our Shanti schemes, we provide safe housing in undisclosed locations for Asian women fleeing domestic violence. Our service users come from all over the UK and can be referred by a range of agencies or directly by themselves.

We provide a high level of support with residents usually staying for a short period prior to moving on to permanent accommodation.

Support in hostels

Our hostel based support teams provide about 145 units of supported housing. Helen Graham House is located in the heart of London and Blackshaw House is located in south west London. Both offer good, safe, low cost, short to medium term housing to suit single young people between the ages of 18 and 25.

Residents usually stay for a maximum of two years, with a minimum stay of three months. The hostels are:

Worthing Foyer

We also run a Foyer in Worthing, a purpose built scheme for young people, which aims to help them get their lives on track and give them guidance and advice on what they might want to do in the future, be it training, full time education or employment.

Accommodation based support
