How to pay your rent or service charge


As a provider of affordable housing, we charge reasonable rents and service charges. When you sign your tenancy agreement you agree to pay your rent/service charge in full and on time; if you do not pay these, you could lose your home.

If you are having difficulties paying your rent, you should contact us immediately. We can talk through your options and see what help and support we can provide. Every year rents are reviewed; information on this year’s review is available here.

How to make a payment

There are a number of ways for you to pay your rent:

Direct Debit

Direct Debit is one of the easiest ways to pay your rent. A Direct Debit is an instruction from you to your bank or building society which allows us to collect your rent directly from your account. Paying by Direct Debit comes with a guarantee.

The quickest way to set up a Direct Debit is to call our Customer Service Centre on 0330 123 0220 during office hours, or you can download a form from the selection below and send this to us in the post.

At a Post Office or any shop displaying the PayPoint logo

You can pay your rent at the Post Office or any shop that displays the PayPoint logo. You will need to take your Rent Card with you. Find your nearest payment outlet.

If you have lost or damaged your Rent Card, you can get a new one by calling the Customer Services Centre on 0330 123 0220 during office hours.

Pay over the phone

If you want to pay your rent over the telephone please call the Customer Service Centre on 0330 123 0220. From 31 July rent payments can also be made out of hours (6pm-8am) by selecting option 3. However, please make sure you have your Rent Card reference number handy and a debit or credit card. Alternatively, you can call allpay directly on 0844 557 8321 24hours a day, 7 days a week.

Pay online

You can pay your rent online via allpay. You will need your Rent Card reference number and debit or credit card. Go to the allpay website.

Pay by cheque

If you wish to post us a cheque, you need to make it payable to ‘Viridian Housing'; write down your tenant reference number and address on the back. Send to The Cashier, Viridian Housing, Colwell House, 376 Clapham Road, London, SW9 9AR

Standing Order

In order to get a standing order form sent to you please call the Customer Service Centre on 0330 123 0220 during office hours.

Pay by app

Allpay have a free mobile phone app. Once you have logged in you can register your Rent Card and your payment card so you don’t have to enter them again.

Online banking

If you would like to pay by online banking please ask your Housing Officer for our account number and sort code as well as your reference number. You can either make individual payments or set up regular payments (standing orders).
