Local offers and co-regulation

If you have any feedback about the draft local offers, community choices or anything else on this page you can contact us by calling 020 3202 3631 or by emailing: businessexcellence@viridianhousing.org.uk.

What is the TSA?

The Tenant Services Authority (TSA) is the independent regulator for all the affordable housing in England, whether managed by Local Authorities or Housing Associations. We answer to the TSA for the effective management of our homes and the wellbeing of our tenants.

What are the national standards? And what is co-regulation?

The TSA have set six national standards for housing providers, these will form the basis of co-regulation with housing providers and residents working together to scrutinise services. The national standards are:

  • Resident involvement & empowerment - including customer service, complaints, and understanding and responding to the diverse needs of residents.
  • Home – including repairs and quality of accommodation
  • Tenancy – including rents and service charges
  • Neighbourhood & community - including estate management and anti-social behaviour
  • Value for money
  • Governance & financial viability

For more information on co-regulation and local offers you can visit the Tenant Services Authority website.

What are local offers?

Developing local offers involves tailoring the standards to suit your local priorities, by carrying out consultation with residents we aim to develop local offers which will reflect the priorities of local communities.

We will begin delivering and monitoring the local offers from April 2011 and will report on our performance in July 2011 after the first three months.

What is the Viridian approach to local offers?

Since summer 2010 we have carried out a wide range of consultation and over 1100 of you have given us your feedback. We have come up with eight local offers. For each offer we will explain:

  • the standard of performance you should expect
  • how performance will be monitored, reported to and scrutinised by residents
  • what happens when the offer is not delivered and what redress can residents expect?
  • how and when the local offer will be reviewed
