As a Viridian resident, you have the right to swap your home with another resident. This is an effective way of arranging your own move. You don't have to go on the transfer waiting list and you don't have to wait for a vacancy.

A mutual exchange is often the quickest way of moving home. This is where you 'swap' homes with a resident in our Association or with another landlord such as a council or other Registered Social Landlord. Before the mutual exchange can go ahead you need our agreement to the move, and you must have a clear rent account.
Before you exchange, you must get our permission and your 'exchange' partner must get their landlord's permission before you arrange to move. There are certain circumstances where we can refuse your request, such us if you are under court order, or if the new tenant would be substantially under-occupying the property.

If you are not a Viridian resident
If you are not a Viridian resident you should contact your own landlord rather than us. It is the responsibility of the Viridian resident to contact us.
Obtain permission to exchange
If you have found a mutual exchange partner, you will need to get permission from us before you proceed with the exchange. If you are a Viridian resident, you must complete the mutual exchange request form to apply for permission (this can be obtained from you local area office)
If you are a resident of another landlord and you wish to exchange with a Viridian resident, you must seek permission from your own landlord.
